Seattle has beautiful scenery. We were in Seattle in early September and during our time there, made day trips to Snoqualmie Falls, Olympic National Park and Mt. Rainier National Park. We visited Snoqualmie Falls as part of a wine-tasting tour. The falls are one of the most popular scenic attractions in Washington and they certainly were impressive. We went to Palm Springs, California to attend a wedding in 2010, and while there, we took a day trip to Joshua Tree National Park. It was a four-hour tour that was “off road” and also included Big Morongo Canyon. Joshua Tree National Park is almost 800,000 acres and includes parts of both the Mohave and Colorado Deserts. In 2013, we spent a day at the Tall Ships Festival at Navy Pier in Chicago. These events are sponsored by Tall Ships America and occur annually.
